Canadian company Phoenix Truck & Crane and Schenker International are teaming up to ensure the show goes on at this year’s Beijing Olympics.
Phoenix Truck & Cranes has recently invested in a STEELBRO Sidelifter to provide the container handling solution for Schenker International in Beijing.
Schenker International will provide exclusive and extensive logistics support to American broadcasting company NBC during this year’s games. Schenker’s Technical Logistics Coordinator in China, Demming Wu, says much of the broadcasting gear will be containerised; “Schenker will be providing a ‘door-to-dor logistics solution to NBC during the course of the Olympic Games. We will transport the shipping containers from the U.S. and then NBC will manage their deployment during the games by using the STEELBRO Sidelifter.”

In China, NBC will be moving the containers using STEELBRO Sidelifters
“The STEELBRO units will give us a highly flexibly option for delivering and retrieving heavy equipment to a range of different Olympic venues. We need to be highly efficient and responsive to the needs of NBC, due to the variable nature of the event and the production company.
One operator is all that is required to safely pick up the container and transport up to thirty-six tonnes of equipment to another location.
It also means that they are not reliant on additional

equipment like a forklift or crane to be available to do the job.
